Playing in the water and at Beech Park

There is always lots to do at Grandma and Grandpa's house!

With all the snow today (October 28th) it is fun to go back and look at the pictures during the warmer month of August.

Brianna is such an outdoor kid. I think this winter it is going to be hard for her to stay inside when it is snowing out.

YAY for slides!!

She also loves hiking up the big hill in the park and running down into daddy's arms.

Sundays

We got a few pictures through the day one Sunday in August.

My two girls look so beautiful dressed up for church. You gotta love the fuzzy pink slippers that Brianna likes to wear!

Brianna loves playing at the front of our church near the alter. We like to think of it as her playing in the arms of God. What a precious gift she has been to Rachael and I!

We typically drive down to Grandma and Grandpa's house after church on Sundays. We all enjoy spending time together as a family, and it has offered us some time to get a few nice pictures while we are all dressed up.

Brianna Moments

Here are a few "Brianna Moments" from the end of July and beginning of August.

Check out all those curls!!

Here she has managed to climb her way up the chair and onto the desk to get her gummy vitamins. Mommy was not happy.

Our little goof! She loves playing with sunglasses and was walking around with them hanging off her ears.

And above was the day that Brianna decided to destroy her bedroom. We have since had to move her dresser away from the crib because she was using it to escape. She would pull herself up onto the edge of the crib, climb out onto the dresser, push the changing pad off, and jump down onto the floor. Crafty little bugger!

Cave of the Winds

Okay. With it snowing like crazy here in Colorado today, we finally have some more time to update the photo blog. We left off last time at the Colorado Springs Zoo. So, it is time to continue with a few more pictures from that weekend in July, and hopefully catch us up through October. We've got a lot of catching up to do!

I always have enjoyed exploring caves! It looks like Brianna does too!

The stalactites and "cave bacon" were awesome

Brianna got to touch some of the smooth rocks in the cave too

Above is a photo showing the old rope ladder that was previously used to explore the Cave of the Winds. If you look to the left of the ladder, you will notice a multitude of little soot marks on the ceiling of the cave where visitors during the old days would put out their candles before continuing up the ladder the rest of the way.

Colorado Springs Zoo (Eagle, Wallaby, Elephants)

Though far off, I was able to get a snapshot of the Bald Eagle

Brianna got to pet an Albino Wallaby too!

We had to get a souvenir Giraffe button while we were there, too

And lastly we got to see the Elephants get a bath. Overall, it was a good day at the zoo!

Unforutnately I didn't get a good picture of the elephants. We also took the sky-ride up the mountain just before we left, but again, missed taking some shots with the camera during that time.

Colorado Springs Zoo (Otters and Bears)

After the merry-go-round incident, it didn't take long for Bri to cheer right up again.

By far, the best part of the zoo was watching the otters. They were very active and Brianna enjoyed watching them tumble and play in the water for nearly 15 minutes.

We also go to see the bears. They were kind of far off at first, but then one came down from the rocks and came right up to the observation window.

I guess he was getting hot, because he even decided to take a swim, to the enjoyment of all the people watching.

Colorado Springs Zoo (Merry-Go-Round)

They had this really neat old merry-go-round at the zoo. We decided that since Brianna was so enthralled by the music it was playing, we ought to take her on it once to see if she would like it.

At first, she was ok...

Then it got progressively worse...

We found out that, although she liked watching and listening to the merry-go-round, she didn't much like being ON the merry-go-round.

Not a happy kid at all.
