Washington Park

Near the end of Jill's stay we all got together one last time to have a picnic and get some great family photos at Washington Park.

It was a beautiful day, as the photos show, and we had a great time enjoying the flower garden and spending time as a family.

Brianna even got to pick some flowers!

We even rented a 6 person bicycle car and peddled it around the lake with the kids riding in the front. Meredith and Brianna looked so cute wearing their little helmets :-)

6 Months!

During our "time off" from the blog Brianna also celebrated her 6 month birthday on September 30th!

We got her an ice cream cake for her "birthday" and Rachael gave her a first taste of ice cream on that day. And just like mommy, we are sure that she'll be hooked on this delightful frozen dessert.

Unfortunately, 6 months also brought the excessive drool of teething. Brianna has been doing well and a few teeth are definately on the way, but none have broken through at this time.

Yes, it says "Don't hassle me, I'm teething" :-)

Family Time

We spent a lot of time at my parents house sitting out on the new paved back porch enjoying stories and sharing each others kids. Below is Rachael holding Hudson, Laura holding Isaac, and Jill holding Meredith.

Paul spent most of his time playing in the sand box while his dad, Jason, spent time with his only niece.

Uncle Jason even helped Brianna "walk" around the living room

My Aunt Pat also came up from Florida for a few weeks to spend some time with the family.  She even cooked an awesome jumbo shrimp and crab dinner for all of us one night, her signature meal!  She loved seeing her great-niece and catching up with the rest of the family.

Jill, Isaac and Hudson

Isaac "hang'n out" at Grandma Felix's house

Rachael holding Brianna and Hudson. There is only a month and a half difference in age between them.

Hudson was quite the kicker. Here I am patting his feet while Jill, Isaac, and Brianna laugh and play.

Brianna enjoyed meeting her cousin who was so close in age to her. It was so fun seeing how they reacted to each other.

"Coming to America"

In September my sister-in-law Jill came back to the states to visit. Obviously this was an awesome time as we were finally able to meet little Hudson and spend some quality time with our other young nephew, Isaac, who we hadn't seen since he was Brianna's size!

It was great meeting them all at the airport. And even though it was past Brianna's bed time, she was happy to see her aunt and cousins in the main terminal at DIA.

Hudson is a BIG kid for his age, so it was quite a change holding him compared to our little Brianna, but it was SO wonderful to finally meet him. Unfortunately, Josh couldn't make it back for this visit, but we were looking forward to having fun and enjoying the time together.

Sleeping on the Blog...

So, as you all know, it has been a while since we last posted to our blog. I guess you could say we've been sleeping on the job :-)

Seriously, though, we have been rather busy lately and blogging has had to take a back seat to me getting a new job. However, with all the prayers and God willing, I should be employed by the end of this week! My manager from my previous company called me up last week looking to hire me on as a Sr Data Center Administrator with Fidelity National Financial. I interviewed for the job the very next day and I am suppose to hear back from him soon. I am still looking for other opportunities in the mean time, but I will keep you posted.

Anyways, this is the first post in a series of "catch up" entries that I am working on. So, be prepared to see a long string of posts showing pictures of what my family has been up to during the past three months.

CAUTION: EXTREME BABY CUTENESS TO FOLLOW!

First Foods

With Brianna having gone a whole month of eating a meal of rice cereal or oatmeal along with her bottles, we are now up to two feedings per day. We have also started her on first foods! During the first week of this month she had her first taste of carrots.

She is doing so well with the new foods and seems to be enjoying them a lot. And now that we are on to the second week of the month, we are trying peas.

We're keeping the portions small, and only doing the first foods during her second feeding. So far, she seems pretty happy to be tasting new things.
