Great-Grandma Tomey and Aunt Connie

Great-Grandma Tomey and Aunt Connie flew out from Tennessee to visit the family and drive up to Idaho with Roy and Martha.

Grandma Tomey was glad to finally meet her newest great-granddaughter and hold her in her arms.

Aunt Connie was also very happy to meet little Brianna

We took the chance to take a family photo as well!

Shown above are the 4 generations of the Tomey family!

Memorial Day Picnic

The family got together this Sunday for a picnic at City Park to celebrate Memorial Day.

Brianna enjoyed spending time laying outdoors in the shade. She is such a little angel! We even made her a baby tent out of her play arch to keep the wind from bothering her.

After eating our picnic lunch we played frisbe and threw the whistle footballs. Paul and Meredith also got to play on the "kids' kingdom" fort. It was a fantastic day, I'm sure our little neice and nephew were worn out from having so much fun!

Flying Back Home

Before leaving Arizona, we had to stop and get a picture by one of the famed Saguaro cactus trees. Unfortunately we couldn't find one with multiple arms like you see in the "old west" films unless we stopped by the highway (which just wasn't going to happen).

All in all, we had a great trip to Arizona. Brianna was such a good girl the whole time. We got so many comments from people in the airport about how cute she is and how she was always so calm.

She was even a little angel during both of the flights. Although she made some faces when the pressure changed, she never once cried out during the whole flight to Arizona and back.

I think she also enjoyed looking at the animals on the tails of the Frontier airplanes :-) We flew with Sebastian the Ferruginous Hawk both there and back.

Visiting with Uncle Dennis and Aunt Heidi

While in Arizona, we stopped by Uncle Dennis and Aunt Heidi's house in Gilbert.

We surprised them with a call on Monday evening asking them if they wanted to go out to dinner :-) They had no idea that we were in Phoenix. We originally just wanted to show up on their doorstep, but we decided to make sure they were home first by calling. We had planned to just call and hang up if they answered, but it ended up that WE got hung up on by Heidi who thought that the call from the hotel was solicitation :-D

They even gave us the grand tour of their beautiful house. Heidi's mom also lives with them, and she just loved to see and hold Brianna as well.

After dinner that evening, Dennis took us to a country club resort where we walked around the garden by a lake and took some pictures in the gazebo. The weather was amazing the whole time we were there in Phoenix. It was usually around 70 degrees in the evenings with highs of 80 or so during the day.

Business Trip to Arizona

Brianna had her first business trip this week :-)

She and daddy worked very hard, so we definately had to take some time to relax at the hotel

We even spent some time hang'n out by the pool during the warm Phoenix evenings

Brianna even got see some very unique local flora... those cacti were prickly!

Brianna's Baptism

Brianna was baptised on May 11th, 2008 at Concorida Lutheran Church.

The whole family came to church with us to witness this joyous event including Roy, Martha, Sharon, Rich and Hanna. (Yes, we realize the middle name was misspelled on the banner, it is Brianna Marie)

Jason and Laura and Rich and Sharon were sponsors for the baptism. We appreciate each of you for your commitment to helping Brianna in her life-long walk with Christ. Although Josh and Jill could not be with us during the baptism, we know your prayers were with us and our baby girl, Brianna. We love and miss you, Isaac and Hudson so much!

This day was VERY special because it was three events all rolled into one day! Rachael's birthday is also on May 11th and, this year, so was Mother's Day. We had to have a BIG cake just to fit all the words on :-) This was an ice-cream cake (of course) and we also had another cake celebrating Brianna's new life in Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:17

Brianna's Birth Plate

Rachael found a website that sells the very same birth plates that I and my brothers have. It's really neat to have such a special item and we are definately going to get one for each of our children.
